Piano Scholarships from Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe

We are pleased to announce the 22nd year of the Scholarship scheme for music students. A total of 37 Scholarships in 25 countries will be awarded to full-time students in 2010/2011.

In 2010/2011, the scholarships’ discipline is Piano. Regulations may vary depending on the country.

Applicants are to download and fill out the application form and to send it to the appropriate contact address together with a recording of two titles.

  • Please make sure to send a CD, DVD or Mini Disc with your recordings together with the application form.
  • The length of both pieces should not exceed more than 20 minutes.
  • The quality of the sound does not have an effect on the later selection process.

The closing date for applications for the 2011 Scholarships is November 30th 2010.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Classical Piano Performance, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand

This Scholarship has been established by an anonymous bequest donor to assist classical pianists entering Post Graduate study at either the New Zealand School of Music or an approved overseas Institute.

Purpose of award
The Scholarship is open to New Zealand residents under the above criteria or international students who are applying for study at the New Zealand School of Music only.

Selection criteria
The Scholarship will be open to classical piano students entering Post Graduate studies at either the New Zealand School of Music or an approved overseas Institute (applicants must provide evidence that they have been awarded a place).

Value: $10,000 per annum
Tenure of award: One Year. Students may apply for a second year of Scholarship funding.
Closing dates for applications: Sunday 31 October 2010
Awarded till 2020 or until funds are fully disbursed.

Decision makers
The Scholarship will be decided by a representative panel of the New Zealand School of Music.
