The Division of Dentistry in the Centre for Professional Practice at the University of Kent will be offering scholarships to a number of applicants.
Scholarships of £250, £500, £750 and £1,000 will be available. The maximum amount available to any scholar will be £1,000 per academic stage.
University of Kent Dental Development Scholarship
This scholarship competition is open to all UK, EU and Overseas full-time undergraduate students.
This scholarship fund is designed to support widening access and participation in higher education by dental care professionals and will provide a partial scholarship to incoming and current students in the Dental Care programmes at the University of Kent.
Scholarships of £250, £500, £750 and £1,000 per annum will be available. The maximum amount available to any scholar will be £1,000 per academic stage.
Scholarships may be awarded for 1, 2 or 3 stages, and any applicant awarded a scholarship at stage 1 or 2 will be able to reapply for succeeding academic stages at the end of June each year. Scholarships will also be subject to satisfactory academic progress

The Walter H. Shorenstein Asia-Pacific Research Center (Shorenstein APARC) in the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies at Stanford University is pleased to announce a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Asian Health Policy for 2011-2012. The Postdoctoral Fellow will participate in the Center`s Asia Health Policy Program while completing his or her own research on contemporary health or healthcare in two or more countries of the Asia-Pacific, including the social and economic implications of population aging. We welcome applications from junior scholars (Ph.D. conferred after 2008 and by August 30, 2011)) from a variety of disciplines, such as demography, sociology, political science, economics, anthropology, public policy, law, health services research and related fields.
Stipend
The Fellowship carries a stipend between $40,000 and $45,000 depending on experience, with $2500 for research expenses. The Fellow will be expected to be in residence for at least three academic quarters, beginning fall 2011. He or she is required to present research findings in a Center seminar and to release at least one working paper in the AHPP working paper series on health and demographic change in the Asia-Pacific (http://asiahealthpolicy.stanford.edu/publications/list/0/0/4/).
