We are building a research team of graduate students for our laboratory. Our projects are related to the application of laser ultrasound technologies and optical fiber sensors technologies to the non-destructive test and evaluation (NDT&E), and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) of important engineering structures, such as wind turbine, space launch vehicle, nuclear power plant, and aircraft. All the projects are application based with supports from the industries or government, and have great potential to be commercialized. If you are highly motivated, we want to invite you to join our research team.

Basic Requirements:

  • Aerospace, Aeronautics, Mechanical, E&E, Mechatronics, or Computer engineering.
  • Prefer candidates with LabVIEW or FEM skills.
  • Good English language proficiency.

Financial Supports:

  • Starting pay KRW 900,000 for master; KRW 1,100,000 for PhD (after tax deduction).
  • Increment depending on research achievement, e.g. KRW 1,580,000 for a present PhD student in the 4th year.
  • Office utensils supported, including PC, furniture, stationary, etc.

PhD Studentships in Finance, University of Melbourne – The Department of Finance

The Department of Finance at the University of Melbourne is pleased to invite applications for places in its PhD student cohort matriculating February 2011.

The PhD program consists of rigorous coursework in the first year, followed by a 2-3 year research period. The research of our faculty members spans all areas of finance and has been published in the top finance journals, such as The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Financial Economics, the Review of Financial Studies, and the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis. A roster of prominent visiting scholars from other top Finance departments further enhances the program. Upon graduation, our PhD candidates are well equipped to compete in the global academic finance job market.

All places in the finance doctoral program are fully funded. Enrolled candidates receive tuition remission plus a stipend of at least A$26,000 per annum but possibly ranging higher for exceptional applicants, up to A$40,000 in certain instances. Further funding to cover conference and tutorial travel expenses is also available.
