getting to know Jamaica - once you go, you know

You have to get to know Jamaica and the Jamaican people and there is no better way than having a local Jamaican show you around. In our case we are priviledged to have Mr. Frank Rance, owner of FDR Resort in Runaway Bay and Pebbles Resort as our friend showing us around.
BACKGROUND OF FRANK RANCE

Frank Rance was born in Kingston, Jamaica, the third of five children. His father worked for a local tobacco company as a quality control supervisor. Rance, an above average student, completed high school and went to work for one year as a time keeper and cashier on a local sugar farm. In February, 1966 at age 19, he got a job as a checker and cashier at the Hilton International Hotel. He progressed well during his eight years with Hilton. In 1974 he became an auditor, a top position in financial control for the Jamaican Hilton. His potential had been identified during these 8 years and Hilton sent him to Montreal to its worldwide Career Development Institute to be trained in hotel management. The eight week program was soon to be followed by five trips to the Hilton Caribbean training center in Puerto Rico for additional training in hotel accounting, food and beverage operations, and general management.

JFK Speech (Modified for the world)- Youtube Play Project JFK Speech (Modified for the world)- Youtube Play Project I modified the speech text to talk about the internet and mobile videos. I also replaced words like "our nation" to "our world" things of that sort. Some friends recorded their videos in their respective countries and others just spoke their native tongue. Enjoy it! We are, as a people,.. (The very word secrecy is repugnant in a free and open world and we are, as a people inherently and historically oppose to secret societies, to secret oaths and to secret proceedings. We as people have realized that the dangers of excessive and unwarranted concealment of pertinent facts, far outweighs the dangers which are sited to justify it.)--Hans (New York, USA) (Even today there is little value of opposing the threat of a closed society by imitating its arbitrary restrictions. Even today there is little value in ensuring the survival of our world if our traditions do not survive with it,)--Yaw(Ghana) (And there is very grave danger that an announced need for increase security will be seized upon by those anxious to expand its meaning to the very limits of official censorship and concealment. That, I do not intend to permit to the extend that its in my control)--Hans (and no friend of mine, on or offline, civilian or military should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to sensor the news, to stifle descent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know.)--Susana (Honduras) (For we are opposed, around the world, by a ...

Wine Bounce - Dominant ft. Nicky B (Official Video) Wine Bounce - Dominant ft. Nicky B (Official Video) Dominant might not be a name you're too familiar with just yet but it's only a matter of time before he makes a name for himself and makes it big in the music world. Byron Garvey (aka Dominant) was born in Linstead, Jamaica on February 8. 1979. Even though this talented reggae artist is only 30 years old and has never stepped foot off the island of Jamaica, you'd never know it by listening to his unique brand of reggae. Dominant describes his brand of music as "much different and unique", a "reality style "of music and in his own words describes it as a fusion of the Jamaican language. Dominants dreams are big. When asked what his aspirations are in the music industry he confidently replies "to give opportunity to the world in what he has to offer from his music that describes things that happen around us. He wishes to build a strong influence to the world of music. According to Dominant apart from Shabba Ranks there are no big name artists who use this style of music. He also adds that Ninja man occasionally blends this style into his music but that's about it. Dominant has worked with universal recording artist, Nicky B, who is thoroughly known throughout Jamaica and France. At 30 Dominant is already an accomplished musician in his own right. He began recording his music at the young age of 19 and has at least 15 recordings to his name with various producers already, quite an accomplishment for a person who doesn't come from a musical background.
