Pope Benedict XVI turns 82
This week Pope Benedict XVI will celebrate his 82nd birthday and the fourth anniversary of his pontificate.
Joseph Ratzinger was born in Germany on a Holy Saturday in 1927. As a child he would witness firsthand how the oppressions of the Nazi regime plagued his country and the Catholic Church.
Shortly after the end of World War II, Ratzinger finished his studies in philosophy and theology in Freising, where he would later teach, and also at the University of Munich.
He spent most of the 1960s teaching in German universities in Bonn, Munster, Tubingen and Regensburg.
In 1977, professor Ratzinger became Archbishop Ratzinger when Pope Paul VI named him Archbishop of Munich and Freising and then Cardinal three months later. He participated in the papal conclaves that elected John Paul I and John Paul. Pope John Paul II named Ratzinger Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith in 1981 and his chief collaborator.
It was on April 19, 2005, however, that Joseph Ratzinger received a much different title: Vicar of Christ. Ratzinger had become Pope Benedict XVI, succeeding Pope John Paul II.

My Rant on Pope Pseudo Apology Take 2, re Vatican 6.11.10 City of Angels I'm one of the Catholic pedophile priest victims and I've been watching Treme on HBO. If John Goodman's character can do it so can I. Pope Benedict stood up and begged forgiveness from = quote persons involved unquote = and after that he did not mention the hundreds and thousands of victims, nor did he ever admit the true nature of the crimes . There are hundreds of thousands of victims and their families living damaged lives otherwise today. Because the Catholic Church aided and abetted pedophiles and now they want to get away with it. Last Friday pope was preaching a sermon to mark the end of the 'Year of the Priest' in Rome Friday June 10, 2010.) Last Friday The Pope said, "In this very year of joy for the sacrament of the priesthood, the sins of priests came to light — particularly the abuse of the little ones, in which the priesthood, whose task is to manifest God's concern for our good, turns into its very opposite." Ingredients Crab Cakes 1 pounds (16 ounces) fresh, frozen or canned crab meat, rinsed and drained 1 1 cups fresh bread crumbs or one large baking potato, cooked and grated 2 large eggs 1/4 cup red or yellow pepper, finely chopped 1/4 cup light mayonnaise 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 1/4 cup flour (for dredging) 1 1/2 cups Panko or traditional breadcrumbs, optional 1/4 cup canola or olive oil 8 large eggs, poached Lightened Lemon-Basil Hollandaise Sauce 1/4 cup water or skim milk 1 tablespoon lemon juice, freshly squeezed 1 slice of white sandwich bread, torn into pieces 1/4 cup butter, melted Salt to taste 3 fresh basil leaves Instructions Rinse and drain crab meat well; remove any cartilage. In a large bowl, gently mix together the crab, bread crumbs, one egg, red pepper, mayonnaise, mustard, and salt and pepper to taste. Form into 8 patties, adding a little extra mayo if needed to help the mixture hold together. Place a small amount of flour in a shallow dish and season with salt and pepper. "The Benedict Arnold" Documentary This documentary was made by my friend Dale Alexis and I for our Communications Technology class in grade 11. We had an idea to make a full length detective movie, but we realized that this was a much bigger endeavour than could be accomplished within our timeframe. So instead, we made a documentary of the movie we hoped to make. The plot of the actual movie is outlined below. When a murder is committed within a government organization, the government turns to the services of two private investigators: James Keyes and Geoff Foley. Geoff , a former agent of high rank in the organization, is hired when the trail runs cold. The government, knowing that he is well connected and aware of his exemplary service, calls upon his expertise to help uncover a traitor and solve the murder. We never got around to making the full movie, so this ended at the documentary, but who knows? maybe the movie will still be made.
