Kaleidoscopic Apophysis Flam4CUDA@ Ultra low iterations

In this animation I've added some kaleidoscopic effects to a fractal flame
that i rendered in a flash with Flam4CUDA. For those familiar with Flam3s
The renders were only done at a quality of 100 (out of millions).
In Apophysis this would equal a render-quality of 2!! :P

Flam4 Test Anim-01g Flam4 Test Anim-01g Most of this description is duplicated from my last upload. Following this description however, are a few more rendering details, the settings I used, and the time it took to render the frame set. This is a short anim composed of frames generated by flam4OCL which is an application that uses a computer's Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for calculating and rendering fractal flame* images. To render the images for this animation I used the version of flam4OCL based on OpenCL; there's also a CUDA-based version, flam4CUDA... Click on "View All Files" here: sourceforge.net The 1200 frame parameters that compose the animation were generated by the scripting engine in Apophysis** 3D Hack program using my Apophymator script: drop.io At the time of this upload, the process for rendering a large set of Apophysis flame parameters with the flam4OCL rendering engine is somewhat complex. Presently however, it's fairly easy to use flam4CUDA to render images from larger flame set files. This animation is based on 8 flames from a random batch generated by Apophysis. There were 150 frames between keyframes, so a total of 1200 frames were generated. It took almost exactly 10 hours for flam4 to render images with these properties: size: 1280 x 720 --flame properties-- quality = 3000 filter radius = 0.5 oversample = 3 *__"Fractal Flame Algorithm"; see "this paper" link at this page: flam3.com **__ Apophysis main branch: sourceforge.net ..searching will reveal other versions

Presently however, it's fairly easy to use flam4CUDA to render images from larger flame set files. The animation here is based on 4 flames from a random batch generated by Apophysis. I don't have exact figures - because I don't want to render the same 600 flames in Apophysis - but I would guess that flam4OCL rendered the set of flames at least 20 to 30 times faster than Apo's calculations done on the CPU would have rendered them. __ * "Fractal Flame Algorithm"; see "this paper" link at this page: flam3.com

Flam4cuda test render Flam4cuda test render Just a couple of flames thrown together for a test render, only took a few hours to render on my GPU as opposed to I don't WANT to know how long on the CPU. Flam4cuda doesn't entirely like the 3dhack Apophysis so I used plain Apophysis 2.02 to get the flames, didn't tweak them at all.

Floating at the Edge of Space Floating at the Edge of Space Just a little (mostly calming I hope) video I put together with a song I made. I know some of the song sounds a bit out of sync but I think it gives it uniqueness...... (well, that's my excuse anyhow...) ;) The orange spinning pattern is a flame fractal animation in case anyone wants to know. Flame fractals can be made by almost anyone with a good graphics card by using Apophysis and Flam4CUDA. Search Google, they're easy to find :)
