Caught on slug Caught on slug This fine fellow was beguiled by a piece of slug. The fight lasted a few minutes and felt like a graceful dance in the mud. Where is the carp mat? I hear you ask . The mud was moist and soft and in places I was sinking in it. Filmed at Lac de Camou, just after sunset. I chose to use a trout hook as the carp hooks on sale in the region tend to bend like wire, making it more difficult to remove. I have learned that barbed hooks tear the mouth less, so used one in this case. I quickly removed the hook by carefully pulling through the shaft and cutting the line, effecting a quick release.
